Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist II – Cytogenetics

Location: Charlottesville, VA

Sign-On Bonus: $12,500 for eligible applicants?

Shift: Day Shift?

Position Compensation Range: $27.00 - $44.00 Hourly?

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist II specializing in Cytogenetics to join our dynamic laboratory team in Charlottesville, VA. This role involves performing complex procedures for clinical diagnostic purposes and serving as a trainer and role model within the laboratory setting.?

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient and quality control (QC) testing, developing skills and maintaining competency in routine and assigned laboratory areas.?
• Maintain proper inventories and ensure the correct use of supplies and reagents.?
• Perform advanced equipment troubleshooting and maintenance to ensure optimal operation.?
• Facilitate a smooth transition between shifts by effectively communicating pertinent information.?
• Participate actively in quality, safety, and compliance programs to uphold laboratory standards.?
• Investigate, document, and resolve problems or complaints related to laboratory operations.?
• Serve as a trainer and role model for Clinical Laboratory Scientist I staff and healthcare professional students.?
• Perform other duties as assigned to support laboratory operations.?

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT); OR Associate Degree or 60 semester hours with 6 hours in Chemistry and 6 hours in Biology and Accredited MLT Training; OR Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related science.?
• Licensure: ASCP certification required within 24 months of hire or military experience equivalent to the ASCP.?
