JOB DESCRIPTION

KOMO/KUNS is seeking a proactive General Assignment Reporter to support our growth and audience engagement. We want a motivated, energetic, creative, and resourceful reporter capable of thinking innovatively. The ideal candidate will develop story ideas, gather information, possess strong writing skills, demonstrate a solid work ethic, and maintain a positive attitude. Excellent live shot skills and a passion for breaking news are essential. Main Responsibilities: Create, shoot, write, and edit compelling stories for multiple platforms. Deliver news on-air as directed by the news management team. Engage with local community members to gather news and foster relationships. Review material for fairness, accuracy, and balance. Collaborate closely with all news team members including Producers, Editors, Anchors, and News Directors. Qualifications: Proven experience with current media creation tools and newsroom systems. Ability to tell stories effectively across multiple platforms. Strong writing and copy-editing skills. Minimum of 3 years of reporting experience. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

The salary range for this role is $43.26/hr to $75.71/hr, determined by experience, skills, certifications, and location.
