Job Description

We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join ThriftBooks as a strategic collaborator, bridging the HR organization and our Baltimore Processing Center (PC). As the onsite HR partner, this individual will provide day-to-day HR support, champion employee engagement, and bring a broad spectrum of HR expertise to a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Recruitment and Onboarding

  • Manage job postings, candidate screening, interview support & training, and facilitate job offers.
  • Ensure a seamless onboarding experience, orienting new hires with company policies, culture, and tools necessary for their roles.

Benefits Administration and Compliance

  • With a comprehensive understanding of company benefits and labor laws, this position oversees benefits enrollment, addresses related queries, and ensures that the organization complies with local, state, and federal employment regulations.

Employee Relations and Engagement

  • Address employee concerns and support conflict resolution.
  • Champion engagement initiatives to foster a positive work culture and strengthen the bond between the organization and its employees.

HR Records and Documentation

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Track performance evaluations and training, and implement HR policies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing employee benefits, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, and FMLA.

Talent Management and Development

  • Identify talent needs and collaborate on succession planning.
  • Support leadership development and growth opportunities aligned with business objectives.

Alignment & Collaboration

  • Align HR strategies with business goals and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • By acting as a Trusted Advisor, recommend best practices, gather feedback, and ensure that HR's contributions are impactful and relevant.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP or SCP) credential or similar
  • 5–8 years of experience in employee relations and recruiting
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and make data-driven decisions
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills - the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Paycom preferred) and Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency required)
