Join Our Team as an HVAC Technician!

As an HVAC Technician at Mohawk Valley Health System, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our patients and staff. Your expertise in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems will be vital in maintaining a healthy atmosphere.

Job Summary

In this dynamic role, you'll be responsible for:

• General facility maintenance and repair duties.
• Working with pneumatic and direct digital controls.
• Understanding air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including ice machines.
• Troubleshooting and repairing HVAC equipment.
• Fabricating and installing filter systems and circulating pumps.
• Knowledge of medical gas systems and high-pressure steam boilers.
• Estimating and requisitioning materials for projects.
• Complying with OSHA, State, DOH, and Hospital Safety Standards.
• Performing heavy lifting and climbing, along with snow removal duties.

Core Job Responsibilities

• 55% Work order response: Addressing temperature issues, replacing/repairing pumps, and charging refrigerant systems.
• 25% Preventive maintenance: Conducting filter changes, coil cleaning, and servicing ice machines.
• 10% Compliance: Ensuring systems meet regulatory standards, including refrigerant reclaiming and fire barrier repairs.
• 10% Quality Improvement: Enhancing patient and visitor comfort by updating HVAC systems and modifying components.

Education & Experience Requirements

Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of HVAC experience.

Preferred:

• Associate's degree or higher.
• 3-5 years of experience in healthcare facilities or trade.

Licensure & Certification Requirements

Required:

• Universal Refrigerant Reclaiming license.
