JOB SUMMARY PURPOSE
The Test Lead is responsible for the design, execution and documentation of system testing for fixes, implementations, enhancements and upgrades. They will lead the test team assigned to verify and validate services, products, and solutions meet specified requirements through comprehensive testing and quality assurance plans. This position plans, creates, executes, and automates test scripts with internal departments, developers, and other stakeholders to improve processes. They communicate changes in procedures, functionality, etc. to appropriate stakeholders.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Computer Information Systems, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
EXPERIENCE
0-5 or more years of experience
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Preferred qualifications include knowledge and experience (front-end), in various functional areas of Oracle CCB/CCS, including Start/Stop, Adjustments, Payments, Billing, Field Activities, and etc.
Experience developing test scenarios and creating and executing test scripts.
Proven experience as a Testing Lead or similar role, preferably in utility applications or related industries.
Proficient in all forms of testing including Regression, System Integration and User Acceptance Testing incorporating business processes.
Skilled on creating and validating business processes by collaborating with users to discuss practices and procedures.
Hands-on experience working with fixes, upgrades, releases or implementations of new systems, providing front-end testing approach.
Ability to identify areas of risk on the different functional areas of systems and provide feedback to mitigate those risks.
Experience in automation tools (i.e. Selenium, ALM, HP Quality Center).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact with users and all levels of management.
Knowledge of different types of testing (e.g., functional, regression, performance, smoke, etc..) and
Knowledge of testing frameworks and tools and test automation frameworks.
Skill in testing strategy, functional and non-functional testing, automated testing, quality assurance and performance testing.
Ability to learn to develop automated test scripts and administer the test automation software.
Ability to frequently and incrementally deliver applications with high quality and to create effective and meaningful tests by understanding needs of stakeholders.
Ability to create, generate and maintain test data and databases and to creatively troubleshoot problems.
Ability to work with cross functional teams and rapidly acquire new information and skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Manages and coordinates all testing activities as assigned to ensure seamless execution and alignment with project requirements.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to maintain efficiency and high-quality standards.
Crafts detailed testing procedures by defining quality metrics and developing effective test strategies.
Plan and schedule testing tasks during project phases, ensuring timely updates are shared with managers, supervisors, and stakeholders about progress and outcomes.
Oversees and verifies that test executions are performed according to the planned procedures.
Recommends process improvements that can streamline testing without compromising quality and enhance the team's productivity or reduce testing cycles.
Detects and flags potential defects, documenting them in detail and reporting findings to relevant teams for resolution.
Prepares comprehensive reports and dashboards to track and communicate on testing activities, offering insights and data on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly performance.
Utilizes expertise in both manual and automated testing to maximize testing efficiency and coverage.
Offers constructive feedback regarding the team's testing efforts, supporting their growth and improving future testing activities to support project objectives.
