The Pharmacy Informatics & Analytics Manager oversees pharmacy operations and IT programs in inpatient and outpatient settings, focusing on improving safety, quality, customer service, and cost-effectiveness. They develop operational workflows, standard operating procedures, and implement pharmacy information systems to enhance efficiency, patient care, and regulatory compliance. The role involves collaboration with pharmacy personnel and leadership to identify and execute improvement opportunities and business plans.
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for overseeing pharmacy operations and information technology programs and services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsible for the development and analysis of improvement opportunities in all phases of pharmacy operations to improve safety, quality of outcomes, customer service and cost-effectiveness. Develops flow charts and standard operating procedures that represent either the current state and/or future state of operations, programs and services. Plays a crucial role in managing and implementing pharmacy information systems to improve workflow efficiency, enhance patient care, and ensure regulatory compliance by directly working with pharmacy personnel at all levels to formulate opportunities for improvement. Develops business plans needed for the implementation of new systems and performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Pharmacy Support Services or Chief Pharmacy Officer.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A Pharm.D. degree or a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy is required. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a health system pharmacy or equivalent (completion of an ASHP-accredited Postgraduate Year One Pharmacy Residency, PGY1, plus 2 additional years of experience; or completion of PGY2 Pharmacy Residency) is required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Must be licensed or license eligible by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Must be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a preceptor.
