Job Title: Senior Project Manager – Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah (Preference for candidates with Utah project experience)

Salary Range: $150,000 – $190,000 base salary

Bonus: Up to 25% of base salary in annual performance-based bonuses

About the Role:

Metric-Geo is recruiting on behalf of a leading general contractor with a strong reputation in delivering complex infrastructure projects across the western United States. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) projects in the Salt Lake City, Utah area.

This is a high-impact leadership role ideal for a seasoned professional with 15–20 years of experience in managing large treatment plant projects. Preference will be given to candidates with a proven track record working on Utah-based projects and familiarity with local regulatory environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all phases of WWTP projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, design coordination, construction oversight, and closeout.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all safety and quality standards.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior project staff.
  • Prepare and present project reports, proposals, and updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve issues proactively.
  • Support business development efforts and contribute to proposal writing and client presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Utah PE preferred.
  • 15–20 years of experience managing large-scale water/wastewater treatment plant projects.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery in the public or private sector.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Utah’s environmental and permitting regulations is highly desirable.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
