Job Title

Sr. Dir of Product, Payments & Fraud

Role Overview

McAfee is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Senior Director of Product Management – Payments & Fraud to own and drive our global payments and fraud product strategy. You will lead the evolution of our core billing and transaction systems, optimize for business growth and customer trust, and build the risk intelligence capabilities that underpin McAfee’s digital consumer protection platform. This is a highly cross-functional and executive-facing leadership role critical to the company’s global growth and monetization strategy.

This is a hybrid position based in San Jose, California. You must be within a commutable distance to our San Jose hub. You will be required to be onsite on an as-needed basis; when not working onsite, you will work remotely from your home location.

About The Role

Strategic Ownership

  • In partnership with Payments business team, align the roadmap with company-level goals such as revenue growth, geographic expansion, customer trust, and operational efficiency.
  • Balance competing priorities: conversion vs. security, cost vs. user experience.

Product Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a team of product managers (and sometimes operations PMs).
  • Drive end-to-end product lifecycle: discovery, prioritization, development, and go-to-market.
  • Have an impact on metrics such as:
    • Payment authorization rates
    • Fraud loss rates / chargeback ratios
    • Payment cost optimization
    • Time to resolution for disputes
Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with payments business team, engineering, data science, risk, compliance, finance, and customer support teams.
  • Work closely with legal, privacy, and compliance to ensure products meet regulatory standards (e.g., PCI, PSD2, AML/KYC, 3DS).

Vendor & Ecosystem Management

  • Evaluate and integrate new partners for scaling or cost optimization.

Risk & Fraud Strategy

  • Monitor and respond to evolving fraud vectors (e.g., synthetic identity, bot attacks).
  • Optimize use of external vendors for real-time detection and mitigation, while minimizing false positives.
  • Global Expansion & Localization
  • Strategically implement region-specific payment methods (e.g., UPI in India, Apple Pay in the US).
  • Ensure systems are equipped to handle regional fraud challenges and compliance requirements (e.g., SCA in Europe).

Executive Communication

  • Present roadmap, KPIs, and risk assessments to C-level stakeholders.
  • Provide clear recommendations backed by data on investments, trade-offs, and priorities.

About You

  • 12+ years of product management experience, including 5+ years leading teams focused on payments, risk, fraud, or financial platforms.
  • Proven record of owning and scaling global payment systems in a subscription or recurring billing context.
  • Deep knowledge of the payment’s ecosystem—including gateways, PSPs, APMs, card networks, tokenization, and retry logic.
  • Strong domain expertise in fraud management frameworks (machine learning, device fingerprinting, identity verification).
  • Experienced in managing external vendors and complex financial ecosystems across geographies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams through ambiguity and growth.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory standards including PCI, PSD2, AML/KYC, and SCA.
  • Proven success balancing technical complexity with business priorities, and customer experience with operational risk.
  • Excellent executive communication skills—able to convey complex trade-offs and data-driven insights clearly and persuasively
