Overview Telecommunications Engineer - Level IV. NetImpact Strategies, Inc. is seeking to hire to support a Federal Agency. Government clearance requirements for this role require candidates to maintain a Secret Clearance . Location : Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) Bethesda, MD. Key Responsibilities Lead design, testing, upgrades, and integration of telecommunication networks, systems, and equipment. Document build, configuration, testing, and deployment processes for all telecommunication activities. Coordinate implementation, upgrades, and version changes with stakeholders to ensure smooth transitions. Plan, implement, and monitor security measures to safeguard telecommunication networks and systems. Perform modeling, analysis, planning, and evaluate emerging technologies for recommendations. Troubleshoot complex issues, manage vendor support, and provide operational oversight in lab or production. Install, modify, repair, remove, and splice copper and optical fiber cables; support construction projects and cable reroutes. Perform end-to-end cable testing, follow cabling standards, and read engineering diagrams for buildings and cable plants. Document all cable infrastructure actions and provide direct support for PMO and CTO requirements. Apply expert knowledge of Structured Cabling, BICSI TIA/EIA 568, TIA 1179 standards, cable plant design, and inventory. Support telecom infrastructure including Avaya/Cisco VOIP, Verizon, Lumen, Polycom, PBX, WAN/LAN circuits, POTS, and IP Fax. Manage and troubleshoot Cisco-based networks, routers, LAN switches, firewalls, DNS, IPSec, BGP, NAT, MPLS, T1, DS3, and Frame-Relay. Utilize systems design tools, structured analysis, COTS products, Internet technologies, and emerging IT industry trends. Implement IT security principles, capital planning, acquisition management, and performance measurements for enterprise IT. Qualifications Required Qualifications and Certifications: Ability to meet required government clearances: Tier 3 (T3) Investigation. Eight (8) years of progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency. Master's degree and/or equivalency. IAT III (CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH). Cyber Workforce Qualification and Management Program (CWP). Preferred Qualifications and Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). Additional advanced telecommunications or networking certifications. Familiarity with enterprise-level IT capital planning, performance metrics, and acquisition management principles. Demonstrated experience with IT security, systems design, and requirements analysis in large-scale environments. Previous Federal Consulting Experience. About Us NetImpact Strategies Inc.
