Job Title: RN – Clinical Educator
Location: Visalia CA

Reports To: Director of Nursing Education or Clinical Education Manager Job Summary:

The RN Clinical Educator is responsible for assessing the educational needs of nursing and clinical staff and providing effective, evidence-based education and training. This role utilizes adult learning principles to design, implement, and evaluate a wide range of educational offerings that enhance the competencies of healthcare providers and improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct ongoing assessments of staff competencies and learning needs.
• Design and implement educational programs that support clinical excellence and regulatory compliance.
• Facilitate onboarding and orientation of new clinical staff.
• Deliver formal and informal educational sessions, in-service trainings, and simulations.
• Evaluate educational effectiveness through assessments and outcome tracking.
• Collaborate with department leaders to identify performance improvement opportunities.
• Maintain knowledge of current trends and best practices in nursing education and clinical practice.
• Serve as a resource and mentor to staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning.

Qualifications:

Licensure/Certification:

• Required: Active and unrestricted California RN license
• Required: Current BLS certification

Education:

• Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Preferred: Master’s Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field

Experience:

• Required: Minimum of two years of recent experience as an RN educator / Practitioner
• Demonstrated experience in:
  • Nursing education and curriculum development
  • Staff development and competency evaluation
  • Implementing diverse teaching methods tailored to adult learning styles

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong presentation and facilitation skills for both formal and informal educational offerings
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and evidence-based instructional design
• Proficient in use of technology, including learning management systems (LMS)
• Effective communication, critical thinking, and leadership abilities
